YBC a church: Deeply Rooted, Branching Out
I give you a thought to ponder as we start a 2015.
‘The comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there’
I have shared at recent church meetings a picture and phrase that God has laid on my heart for our church, the picture of a tree and the words
“Deeply Rooted, Branching Out”
This will be a vision we will unpack more throughout the coming year.I believe this is going to be a year of challenge and change for us all, as we are invited by Christ in to a deeper relationship with him, which has a great impact on our world.
A life devoted to things is a dead life, a stump;
a God-shaped life is a flourishing tree. Proverbs 11:28 (MSG)
“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NLT)
